Cheerful and mysterious Christmas holiday has given glory with magical music of the great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, which sounds like from a fairy tale, played by the symphony orchestra “Symphonica ARTica”, conducted by Pavel Vaskovsky on the first philharmonic concert in the new 2016 year – “Philharmonia Wonderland”. With the concert the 3rd traditional Christmas festival, held by Philharmonia of Yakutia in cooperation with Yakutian and Lensk Eparchy, has been opened.
The program of the day concert, which was visited not only by adults, but also the youngest listeners, was opened by the I part of the First symphony by Tchaikovsky – “Winter dreams”. Sparkling and light melody was soaring in the air. The concert was decided to be held by adults and children, it was children who took part in it as concert conductors: Darya Khodorchenko, Misha Cherepanov and Alesya Kotelnitskaya narrated about Christ’s birth, the star of Bethlehem. Also children told about the reasons of Christmas tree decorating and the way the Christmas was celebrated in Ancient Rus. Loved by everyone “The Nutcracker” melodies were performed in continue of the concert: crystal “Sugarplum Fairy”, solemn and magnificent “Flower Waltz”, graceful “Chinese Dance”, joyful and merry “Trepak”. The listeners came to know about ancient Christmastide traditions from the young concert conductors. In the concert’s fervor guisers came in and sang Christmas carols for all visitors. However the carolers were not ordinary ones. They did not come empty-handed – for singing they asked no sweets as traditionally, but shared their ones with children, sitting in the hall. The guisers were children from “Apelsin” theatre school, belonged to Children Art School № 1 (conductor – Marina Pieva). They brought the atmosphere of Christmastide to the listeners.
In the end of the program the symphony orchestra played inspirational “Pa de Deux” from “The Nutcracker”, and children-concert conductors wished all the listeners merry Christmas and Happy New Year, as well as Philharmonia wishes everyone happiness, peace and all good in the New 2016 Year!
