YAKUTIA.INFO. Philharmonic of Yakutia joined Valery Khalilov International Music Festival held by Valery Khalilov charity fund. On the Children’s Art School № 1 Yakutsk wind collectives performed: “Lena River Brass” (conductor – Pavel Vaskovsky), Music College’s orchestras and young musicians of the Higher Music School.

It has to be mentioned that the concert had vocal accompaniment. The Philharmonic’s Symphonic Chorus (conductor – Lyudmila Shumilova) fitted the program well and at the end the Higher Music School students joined the concert. The concert’s leit-motif was military-patriotic theme. It is obvious that the year 2020 is the Victory Year in Russia played a role in the concert’s program planning.

As Pavel Vaskovsky began his career as a military wind orchestra conductor it was noticeable that he was taking pleasure a lot while conducting on the concert. Moreover, he knew Valery Khalilov.

“Of course, it is complicated to add something after such music was sounded. Valery Khalilov’s works are very particular, they are not clichéd. There is something new, modern in them. This music is really very good. Both musicians and listeners like it very much. This is something like a huge course of military music. And other works, which were represented on the concert, they are very inspiring! That’s why every military base has its own wind orchestra: to encourage the soldiers while farewells to war and meeting after” – Pavel Vaskovsky says.
