The soloist of the State Philharmonia of Yakutia named after G. M. Krivoshapko, coordinator of the action “Balalaika – Russia’s spirit” on the Far East and Eastern Siberia, honoured artist of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Dmitry Shvetsov took part as a jury in one of the most prestigious competitions in the sphere of playing national instruments – International competition among balalaika and domra players named after Pavel Necheporenko, which took place 4-8 May in Russian Academy of Music in Moscow.
“General level of participants was very high, strong. The playing is one the new higher development level in our genre. In the competition brightest young representatives from such cities as Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and others took part. We have to develop national instruments artistic performance in Far East, Eastern Siberia, we have to make progress not to stay aside and to represent our region on such important competitions in future” – Dmitry Shvetsov said.
