EPOS, CLASSIC AND ROMANCE FROM NORTHERN REGIONS

Within 7 years and a half the collective livened up the musical situation in the republic, using every opportunity to show itself on capital scenes.

The latest, 7th in order performance of “Symphonica ARTica” conducted by Natalya Bazaleva, was held right the next day after the International Cultural Forum conclusion, which took place in “the Northern capital”. Coincidentally, that event took place at the same time when we came to know about Lena bridge building official approval. The news meant that Yakutsk as the capital of the biggest and coldest region of Russia will be connected with Russian highway system at last.

On the other hand, building “cultural bridges” with a help of which far Eastern regions inhabitants can tap into the world of musical culture cannot be called as less important process, it needs much attention and concern.

As any collective “Symphonica ARTica” has it’s own peculiarities and one of them is that the majority of the orchestra’s musicians are graduates of Bosikov Higher Music School. Though the musicians are young, they are very enthusiastic and full of energy and the way they perform coincides the strictest standards. In the program among well known works there was a work of young Yakutian composer Nikolay Mikheev. The composer was able to study in Saint-Petersburg, graduated conservatory, Boris Tishchenko class and also studied postgraduate training program at Moscow Conservatory at Alexander Tchaikovsky class.

His symphonic fantasy “Arctic”, which opened the concert, was created at the request of the orchestra as an effective orchestral piece. A the author says, he wanted to show his motherland’s nature and, therefore, an attentive listener could imagine strong Siberian rivers flow, sparkling ice, mountains and taiga endless wides… Because of the Northern colouring the music was strongly associated with Siberian epos and nature of the region.
